I am seeking bright research students to join a team investigating societal and organisational use of Social Software (Web 2.0). I am particularly interested in investigating Social Software in the following contexts:
- Enterprise / Organisational use of Web 2.0
- Government / Citizen use of Web 2.0
- Learning / Multicultural Educational use of Web 2.0
Museum 2.0
A team of researchers from QUT and Queensland Museum are looking for a bright student to investigate the field of Museum 2.0 (how Museum’s can use social software). As a first step, we would like the candidate to investigate how museums are using social networking platforms to create participatory, dynamic and audience-centered museum spaces. Following this, we would like the student to perform a Web 2.0 case study at Queensland Museum with a view to make recommendations to enhance access and interaction with exhibits.
Social Networking for PhD students
A small team of researchers are looking for a committed honors or MIT project student to undertake an investigation into how PhD students are using Social Computing (web 2.0) to: build, maintain, scale, and extend their network; engage with industry; engage and collaborate with broader community (including the general public). The candidate will examine current practice and identify the dimensions of activity and perceived opportunities from a user perspective. There may be a possibility to extend this work into a Phd investigation.
Projects usually require a minimum GPA 5.5 Contact Dr. Jason Watson, Faculty of Science and Technology ja.watson@qut.edu.au
